Weinmann Evolves the One Day Repair concept

Weinmann Technologies is improving its One Day Repair body repair concept to improve speed and productivity. A system already in place in many distribution groups.

Two years after its launch, WeinmannTechnologies is evolving its One Day Repair body repair concept. The firm is pursuing its objective of reducing vehicle downtime to meet the needs of the workshops. "We too often see vehicles in bodywork that are immobilized for 5 days to process 8-hour operations when it would take no more than 6 hours of work to be profitable," explains André Courtois, manager of Weinmann Technologies. The One Day Repair concept is based on a cabin that houses the entire repair process.

Automation and compactness

The One Day Repair Evo adds several improvements, including an energy terminal with dust extraction, even when generated by manual sanding. The marouflage cabinets allow to shelter all the necessary equipment for the preparation within reach of the technicians. A 10 inch screen displays all the information, including gas and electricity consumption, overpressure, humidity and above all real-time performance. Indeed, the device automatically calculates the number of vehicles and the time to be spent on each one. Another automated operation, the EcoVario system regulates the ventilation of the cabin according to the operations performed. It would allow energy savings of up to 30%. The new system would allow productivity to reach up to 200% depending on the firm and the whole system can be installed on a compact surface, in order to create a 350 m2 bodywork in urban areas.

The One Day Repair Evo concept can be applied both for collision repair and in a centre specialising in the reconditioning of used vehicles. In both cases, it is Weinmannrecommended to separate the operations according to the type of work. Repairs involving one to three components are carried out without moving the vehicle, using the One Day Repair Evo in its entirety. On the other hand, the more important work takes place on a more traditional circuit, with a passage on a preparation area before the passage in the cabin. Many distribution groups have already opted for the One Day Repair system as part of their after-sales and OV strategy.
